Terre des Hommes International Federation is a network of nine organisations with headquarters across Europe (Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Terre des Hommes Foundation in Lausanne, Switzerland)

International Federation Terre des Hommes (IFTDH) works for the implementation of conditions for sustainable development and also for the defence of children's rights through the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The original Terre des hommes association was founded in 1960 by Edmond Kaiser, a pharmacist from Lausanne - he left the association in 1980. In 1966, the various national Terre des Hommes organisations came together to form the Terre des Hommes International Federation, based in Geneva.

Under the name of Terre des Hommes, several legally independent organisations now co-exist under the umbrella of the International Federation Terre des Hommes. Today, eleven organisations from Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Syria belong to this federation. The IFHR acts, among other things, as a consultant to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The Terre des Hommes International Federation is supported by an International Secretariat, with offices in Geneva and Brussels.

They develop 730 projects in 67 countries.
