RECI, the Swiss Network for Education and International Cooperation, is an independent, non-profit network of organisations and individuals who promote the right to inclusive and equitable quality education for all and to lifelong learning in the context of international cooperation.

RECI members are Swiss-based NGOs, academic institutions and individual experts working in the field of education and international cooperation.

RECI organises exchanges on education in international cooperation between its members, with other organisations and with a wider interested public.

RECI organises public and networked events – conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars – in person or online.

Through its members, RECI reaches more than 60 countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe.

The Swiss Network for Education and International Cooperation RECI was created on November 9, 2007 the joint initiative of Swiss development organizations, educational institutions and experts and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The purpose and objectives of the network were
specified in a charter. This formed the institutional and content basis of the network. In 2013, as part of a clarification of roles, the SDC withdrew as a member of the network and focused on its role as a strategic and financial partner. Since then, the RECI considers itself as a network of civil society actors and educational institutions, which was formalized at the founding at the founding meeting of the RECI association on June 18, 2015. The Committee launched a revision of the statutes in August 2020 and the current version was adopted by the General Assembly on March 25, 2021.
