The main mission of the Observatoire Romand et Tessinois de la Qualité de l'Air Intérieur (ORTQAI) is to document and evaluate the state of air quality in buildings, using a global approach.
The quality of the air we breathe in enclosed spaces, where we spend most of our time, has become an important public health issue.
Housing, schools, offices, leisure areas, means of transport, etc. are all places of life that are considered by this observatory, thus affecting the whole population, and more particularly the fragile and sensitive people to air pollution.
The Observatory aims at gathering information allowing to better describe and understand the elements which touch the indoor air quality.
Based on international scientific data, this information is completed by field measurement campaigns allowing the evaluation of particular situations.
By identifying the situations at risk, and by determining the sources of pollution, the Observatory participates, in collaboration with the authorities, in actions of sensitization, prevention and provides useful recommendations to improve the indoor air quality.
