The Geneva homecare institution - imad provides care, assistance, support and respite services to help people stay at home while preserving their autonomy.

These services are provided at home, in the homecare centers and their branches, as well as in intermediate structures, in collaboration with the attending physician, the family and the relatives.

The institution is also responsible for assessing needs and orienting people within the care network in accordance with the procedures defined by the State Council.

It develops its activities in coordination with the other partners of the care network, the municipalities and the associations.

In carrying out its missions, it applies the cantonal health policy and the policy in favour of the elderly, defined by the State Council within the legislative framework set by the Grand Council.

Its objectives are to

• to reduce the length of your hospital stay or avoid it
• to promote your convalescence
• delay or even avoid your placement or that of your children in an institution.
