OM Pharma is a global Geneva-based biopharmaceutical company. It is a leader in the prevention of recurrent respiratory and urinary tract infections, also active in the treatment of vascular diseases. OM Pharma operates worldwide via an established, international network of partners and continue to invest in R&D for the development of microbial-derived immunotherapeutic products that address acute and chronic immunological disorders resulting from infections and inflammation.

OM Pharma’s marketed portfolio includes products for respiratory tract infections, lower urinary tract infections, chronic venous insufficiency, microangiopathies (for example diabetic retinopathy), hemorrhoids and menometrorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding). Broncho-Vaxom® and Uro-Vaxom® products are manufactured in Geneva and distributed in more than 100 countries across the world.

OM Pharma employs around 460 people and has a strong presence in Switzerland, with its Global Headquarters and Biotech Center in Geneva and an affiliate in Fribourg. We are also established in Peru with an affiliate in Lima and a dedicated sales force in Central America, more specifically in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama. OM Pharma is also present in Shanghai in order to support its business partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

Since it was founded in 1937 in Geneva, OM Pharma has been developing different bacterial extract formulas to modulate the immune system and prevent respiratory and urinary tract infections.

The family-owned business was acquired by Vifor Pharma (Galenica Group) in 2009.

In October 2020, Etienne Jornod, (former Executive Chairman of Vifor Pharma and Galenica) and other private investors, bought back OM Pharma, with the ambition of further global expansion and investment in R&D to exploit the full potential of its bacterial extracts.
