The Foundation's goal is to improve the lives of people with mental illness and their families and to help them reach their full potential and evolve in society. The Foundation also has a preventive mission by providing psychosocial support to the most vulnerable people.
Fondation d’Harcourt was established upon the initiative of the d’Harcourt family in 1964 as an independent, non-profit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland. We promote national and international projects and partnerships in the fields of mental health and psychosocial support. Our actions stem from the belief that primary needs are not only material. Addressing persons’ intangible needs is indeed also essential to their well-being and dignity.
Its mission is to improve the lives of people struggling with mental illness and their families. Its holistic approach helps them unlock their full potential, function in society, and give something back to their communities. Given that certain social conditions increase the risk of mental illness, They also work towards prevention by providing psychosocial support to those who are most vulnerable.
Fondation d’Harcourt provides grants to organizations with specific expertise in mental health or psychosocial support to implement projects on the ground. Its partnership vision goes beyond financial resources: we see it as a personal relationship, which provides for ongoing learning. Regular field visits and participation in quarterly steering committees allow them to take part in major management decisions and bring our contacts, skills and knowledge to the table.
