The Green Film Festival is the only documentary festival dedicated to ecology and the environment in French-speaking Switzerland. Based in Le Sentier, in the canton of Vaud, it has become, over the years, an essential event where quality films from Switzerland and elsewhere are presented, and which have appealed to tens of thousands of people over the years.
While the consequences of climate change are becoming more and more visible, the Green Film Festival contributes to raising public awareness and encourages changes in our lifestyles by giving visibility to the solutions presented in the films. Most of the screenings are followed by exchanges with the public, with many directors, specialists and other personalities invited to speak to answer questions and encourage the public to take concrete actions in favor of the environment.
The particularity of the Green Film Festival is that it is multi-sited and decentralized: it would be absurd to encourage the public to make a long drive to see a film on global warming, for example. Since its creation in Orbe (VD) in 2006, the number of places hosting screenings has increased regularly.
Film screenings take place partly in Geneva
The Green Film Festival regularly hosts films that address the link between health and the environment.
