Fedevaco is the umbrella organization of 48 organizations active in development cooperation. For more than 30 years, Fedevaco has put its expertise and know-how at the service of public authorities. As a guarantor of the optimal and transparent use of public funds, Fedevaco acts as an interface between public authorities, its member organizations and their local partners. The Confederation, the State of Vaud and 50 municipalities in Vaud have partnered with Fedevaco.

Fedevaco is a permanent center for reflection and knowledge sharing, thanks to the diversity of its member organizations. Bringing together some fifty specialists and expert volunteers (together taking on some 4000 hours of work), it deploys a dynamic associative life by proposing spaces for training and exchange where everyone feels recognized and respected. It also offers various services, including personalized support from a group of experts.

As an active member of FEDERESO, Fedevaco collaborates with the cantonal cooperation federations of Latin Switzerland to strengthen the quality of international cooperation.

Fedevaco was founded in 1989 on the initiative of some twenty organizations in the canton of Vaud:

• To promote development in disadvantaged countries based on justice, solidarity, human dignity and respect for the environment;
• To bring together at the cantonal level organizations active in development cooperation;
• To increase public aid to development;
• To promote the quality of the projects of its organizations financed by the public authorities;
• To inform elected officials as well as the general public in Vaud about the challenges of development cooperation
